| Principal Electrical Engineer Location: London (Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days remote) Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 (Negotiable for exceptional candidates nearing Associate level) Type: Full-time, Permanent Sector: Building Services & Environmental Design Consultancy A well-established and rapidly growing building services and environmental design consultancy, based in central London, is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. Having recently relocated to a brand new, modern office space designed to inspire collaboration and innovation, this consultancy is entering an exciting phase of growth. Key Selling Points: - Competitive salary of £70k - £75k, with potential for negotiation for those close to Associate level - Newly opened, state-of-the-art London office with hybrid working flexibility - Opportunity to lead on innovative, design-led projects with top-tier architects and developers - Supportive, collaborative culture focused on professional growth and shared success - Clear career progression pathway with strong chartership support - Exposure to cutting-edge digital tools including BIM and sustainable design technologies Role Overview - Lead electrical design and coordination across a range of exciting projects - Manage detailed design packages and oversee technical quality standards - Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions - Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development - Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practice guidance - Represent the consultancy in client meetings and technical discussions - Support internal planning and quality assurance processes Candidate Profile - Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical building services design - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent - Chartered or working towards chartership (IET or CIBSE) - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage distribution, lighting, controls, and life safety systems - Experience delivering coordinated multidisciplinary design through all RIBA stages - Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM experience advantageous - Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills - Passion for sustainability and high-performance building design If you’re a driven and technically skilled electrical engineer ready to take the next step in a thriving consultancy, we’d love to hear from you.
