We are seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to join a respected and growing consultancy, based out of either their South Wales and South West offices. This role will see you providing experienced project management across a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects, delivering exceptional client care and high-quality outputs. As a Principal, you will oversee the delivery of complex projects, from new settlements and infrastructure to renewable energy and leisure developments. You will also play a pivotal role in supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues, while contributing to the business's profile through repeat work and the development of new client relationships. The Role You will be responsible for: - Leading the production of key planning deliverables, including LVIA, ES Chapters, Landscape Strategies, and Management Plans, or managing detailed design and implementation where design-focussed. - Providing experienced project management across projects of varying scale and complexity. - Acting as a trusted advisor, delivering expert landscape advice directly to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities. - Preparing and reviewing fee proposals, supporting the growth and profitability of the consultancy. - Undertaking site visits and surveys, translating technical data into clear, actionable outputs. - Supporting the consultancy's market position through exceptional client care and consistent delivery. - Mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to internal learning and development, and promoting collaborative working across disciplines. About You To succeed in this role, you will bring: - A degree in Landscape Architecture (postgraduate qualification desirable). - Chartered Member status with the Landscape Institute. - Proven experience delivering landscape planning and/or design projects across multiple sectors. - A strong understanding of the UK Planning System, relevant legislation, and industry best practice (GLVIA3, LI Technical Notes, Natural England guidance). - Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence with design and analytical tools (GIS/CAD desirable). - Commercial awareness, client care experience, and confidence in managing fee proposals and project budgets. - A collaborative, proactive approach and strong interpersonal skills.
