Facades Quantity Surveyor

Contract Type: Ongoing Contract (Freelance) – Outside IR35
Summary
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with specialist experience in facades and building envelopes to join an ongoing contract based in Solihull. This freelance role offers the flexibility of working outside the scope of IR35, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to complex construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial aspects related to facade and building envelope works, including cost control, subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting. You will work closely with project teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost management, and compliance with contractual obligations, supporting the delivery of high-quality projects within budget and timeframes. Please note we are only looking for candidates with facades experience, no other aspect of construction.
Skills
Proven experience in Quantity Surveying with a focus on facades/building envelopes
Strong commercial management and cost control skills
Subcontractor procurement and management
Contract administration and compliance
Cost forecasting and budget management
Experience working on ongoing contract projects
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
Strong organisational and time management skills
Understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
Software/Tools
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Commercial management software (e.g., CostX, CEMAR) – desirable
Certifications & Standards
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
Membership or working towards membership of professional bodies such as RICS or CIOB (desirable)
