SEN Teacher

Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher
Location: Oxford
Type: Full-time, Part-time options available
Salary: £29,344 - £44,919
Start Date: January 2026

We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated SEN teacher to join our team at a leading school in Oxford. The successful candidate will support students with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and other developmental challenges. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student, setting clear and achievable learning goals

• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of learning styles and abilities

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students

• Regularly assess students' progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to ensure continued development

• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, providing updates on progress and working together to implement strategies for success

• Promote an inclusive classroom environment, fostering acceptance, empathy, and respect for all students

• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current best practices in SEN education

• Apply appropriate behaviour management techniques to create a positive and respectful learning environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred)

• Teaching certification in Special Education (or equivalent)

• Proven experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a similar setting

• Strong understanding of special educational needs, including a variety of learning disabilities and developmental disorders

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential
