Senior Arboricultural Consultant
Location: Redditch, B98 9HF (Hybrid, 50/50 split office/site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 + Company Vehicle

A national leader in land and environmental services is hiring a skilled Senior Arboricultural Consultant to help shape and elevate the delivery of tree consultancy services across the UK. Working across diverse sectors, from major highways projects to higher education estates, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence how arboricultural best practices are integrated into large-scale, high-profile developments.

This position combines hands-on project delivery, rigorous report quality assurance, and strategic development, allowing you to directly impact environmental outcomes and sustainable land management at a national level. It's perfect for an experienced consultant eager to drive technical excellence, mentor the next generation of arborists, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the team, all while maintaining an active connection to fieldwork.

If you're passionate about making a tangible difference through your expertise and leadership, this role offers a rare platform to influence both the environment and the industry on a significant scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex arboricultural surveys and lead client-facing projects.
  • Deliver and review detailed reports across BS5837, veteran trees, and planning-based work.
  • Split time between field (50%) and office (50%) - flexibility available depending on location.
  • Contribute to training junior consultants and developing internal processes.
  • Manage and deliver high-value survey contracts, including complex multi-client projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Several years' experience in arboricultural consultancy.
  • Minimum QCF Level 3/4 Qualification in Arboriculture or higher required.
  • Strong understanding of tree legislation, development policy, and survey methods.
  • Skilled in mentoring junior staff and upholding technical excellence.
  • Excellent written communication and confident client-facing abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, GIS, and report preparation.

Desirable Attributes

  • Degree or higher qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, or Ecology.
  • Understanding of project budgeting and workflow planning.
  • Experience with asset capture systems (e.g. Ezytreev, QGIS).
  • LANTRA PTI, CSCS, or NEBOSH Environmental (preferred but not essential).

Why Join This Team?

  • Rare Opportunities - Lead work that extends beyond standard consultancy into research, veteran trees, and estate-level management.
  • Flexible Work Style - Enjoy a balanced mix of office and site time, with autonomy in how you deliver.
  • Long-Term Projects - With high-profile long-standing clients.
  • In-House Growth - Help shape a transitioning team as work is brought back in-house from trusted subcontractors.

If you're looking to step into a strategic arboricultural role while staying hands-on and client-facing, apply today and join a growing team making a difference across the UK.
