Senior Data Engineer – Regulated Finance / FinTech

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to take full ownership of a modern data warehouse in a regulated finance / digital banking environment. This is a hands-on role with strong influence over data practices, transformation and governance, providing a unique opportunity to shape a modern data platform from the ground up.

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of the data warehouse and transformation pipelines, ensuring stability, reliability and quality
• Establish and enforce data standards, governance and quality processes in a regulated environment
• Support integration of tools and workflows into the warehouse
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business data needs and deliver fit-for-purpose, usable data
• Influence technical standards and mentor junior team members
• Help prepare the platform for AI and advanced analytics initiatives

Who we’re looking for

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Redshift and AWS data services
• Hands-on experience in data modelling and transformations
• Experience working in regulated finance or fintech
• Python experience for integration and transformation tasks
• Comfortable running a data warehouse independently and establishing governance
• Exposure to AI / ML initiatives
• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tooling
• Autonomous, proactive, and able to influence senior stakeholders
• Strong communicator, translating technical challenges into business outcomes
• Collaborative, solution-focused and committed to high-quality, trusted data
