- Undertake and oversee fire systems design using BIM software such as Revit.
- Prepare and review technical reports, fire safety statements and evacuation strategies.
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory authorities.
- Attend and lead site surveys, inspections and technical meetings where required.
- Take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
- Review technical work and provide guidance and support to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Assist with project planning, resource management and meeting project deadlines.
- Support the development of technical standards, processes and best practice within the fire engineering team.
- Contribute to client relationships and the development of new project opportunities where appropriate.

About You

- You will ideally have 5+ years' experience within fire engineering consultancy or a related discipline, together with:
- A relevant degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related subject.
- Strong practical experience of UK fire safety regulations and standards.
- A strong understanding of fire engineering principles and proven experience applying these to a range of projects.
- Experience developing fire engineering strategies and delivering projects with a high level of technical responsibility.
- Experience with fire suppression systems would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS or CFAST would be beneficial.
- Strong communication, client-facing and report writing skills.
- The ability to manage projects and work independently whilst contributing effectively to a wider team.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
- The ability to provide sound technical advice and confidently communicate recommendations to clients and other project stakeholders.
- IFE membership or progress towards Chartership would be advantageous.

What You Can Expect

- £55,000 to £65,000 basic salary

- Company pension

- Core hours of 10am to 3pm
- Support towards IFE Chartership
- Structured training and appraisal programme
- Clear progression and opportunities for career development
- Opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop client relationships
- Annual promotion and salary review process
- Regular social and team-building activities
- Christmas bonus at the company's discretion

Career Progression
The company places a strong emphasis on professional development and creating opportunities for engineers to progress within the business.

Senior Engineers will receive structured training, regular appraisals and support towards IFE Chartership where required. There is scope to take on increasing technical responsibility, develop client relationships and play a key role in mentoring and developing junior members of the team.

Promotions and salary reviews are generally considered each December, with progression based on performance, technical development and contribution to the wider business.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer looking for varied projects, greater technical responsibility, strong professional development and the opportunity to play an important role within a growing fire engineering team.
