Are you an enthusiastic and versatile structural engineer approaching or already at a senior level?

We are working with one of the most established civil and structural engineering consultancies in the South West, assisting them in their search for a Structural Engineer from a buildings background.

The company:

Several offices across the UK housing a team of Civil and Structural Engineering engineers. The Bristol office is based in a convenient location with plenty of access to public transport The company has a real focus on a healthy work-life balance and as such operates a flexible working policy.

With a number of skilled engineers in place, the team is well placed undertake complex and demanding projects. There are training agreements in place with both the IStructE and ICE, in addition any relevant training will also be provided when necessary or requested.

The team actively encourages attending networking and industry events, the business takes pride in involving itself in the local market whether it be working on local projects or fundraising for good causes.

The role:

We are looking  for an experienced structural engineer from a buildings background who is chartered or near chartered, given the healthy pipeline of work we are able to be quite flexible with the level of experience.

What you’ll be doing:

- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other design teams
- Running your own projects
- Developing your existing design abilities while learning new skills such as project management
- Managing a team of Graduate Engineers and Technicians
- Producing design packages in all traditional materials including; steel, RC, timber and masonry
- Attending company and industry networking events
- Structural surveys and report writing

The projects:

Completed using market leading BIM software, projects come from a number of sectors including; healthcare, education, heritage, commercial, regeneration, retail, luxury hotels and leisure. They are a good mix of new build and refurb and range in value. This role would certainly suit someone who wants to work on local, high profile projects.

Rewards:

As well as a contemporary flexible working scheme, you can expect:

- A salary of £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays increasing with time served
- Various insurances covering ill health and income protection
- Regular salary appraisals
