Are you looking for a HSE position that offers you clear scope for progression?

If your answer is yes to the above, this brand new SHEQ Technician position we are recruiting for in Preston could be for you.
 
This role is going to be the successor to the current SHEQ Manager in the next 5 years. He is motivated to build you up, to give you that experience and to train and mentor you. Your role will be to support the business on all things health, safety, environment and quality. You don’t need to know all four disciplines right now, health and safety is the focus, but you do need to be willing to learn them.

The business, which is a manufacturing company with around 150 staff, have seen some huge improvements in the last 2 years and want to continue on that trajectory.
 
Responsibilities include-

- Reviewing Risk Assessments & COSHH Assessments for accuracy and adding any appropriate actions.
- Conducting internal audits as required.
- Reporting and investigating “Near Misses”
- Maintaining a presence on the shopfloor to review suitability of existing controls and reporting any deviations.  Engaging in regular conversations with factory operatives and supervisors.
- Pro-actively following up on any actions relating to Risk Assessments or Investigations including the   validation of action completion.
- Reviewing legislative requirements to ensure compliance.

 
What we are looking for-

- Someone driven, ambitious, self-sufficient, keen, a doer, capable with a good attitude. They need to be comfortable and confident in a shop floor environment.
- Engaging, friendly and personable.
- Someone who will take accountability, who won’t be pushed over easily, can be assertive when they need and who will speak their mind.
- Someone who wants to grow into the HSEQ manager role
- Experience in a HSE or HSEQ function, whether as an Advisor/Coordinator/ Officer/Assistant/Admin, within a manufacturing business.
- NEBOSH Certificate would be advantageous but not essential. If you don’t hold it they will want you to complete this.

 
Working hours Monday to Friday are 8.30am-5pm but we can offer some flexibility around this.

Salary is up to £40,000 DOE
