| Site Agent – Highways (Civil Engineering Main Contractor) Location: Cornwall Contract: 6 Months+ (extensions likely) Rate: Day rate negotiable per day (CIS) Start: January Employer: Civil Engineering Main Contractor ------------------------- The Role We are recruiting an experienced Site Agent for a highways project in Cornwall, working with a respected Civil Engineering Main Contractor. This is a CIS contract position starting in January, delivering key elements of highways works including earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing and pavement construction. ------------------------- Key Responsibilities - Day-to-day management of highways construction and on-site operations - Oversee bulk earthworks, cut/fill, drainage, ducting and pavement layers - Lead site teams, plant and subcontractors to deliver works safely and efficiently - Ensure full compliance with Main Contractor H&S processes and RAMS - Interpret drawings, raise technical queries and resolve design issues - Monitor progress vs programme and report regularly to the Project Manager - Maintain detailed site records, ITPs, as-builts and QA documentation - Liaise with the client, inspectors, utilities and local authority representatives ------------------------- Requirements - Previous experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer within highways for a main contractor - Strong technical understanding of earthworks, drainage and pavement construction - Knowledge of MCHW / National Highways standards - Confident managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary site teams - Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving abilities - Able to commit to a January start in Cornwall ------------------------- Qualifications - CSCS Gold/Black - SMSTS or SSSTS - First Aid (preferred) - Full UK Driving Licence ------------------------- What’s on Offer - Attractive CIS day rate - 6-month initial contract with potential continuation - Opportunity to work on a major highways and infrastructure scheme - Join a well-established Civil Engineering Main Contractor with a strong project pipeline ------------------------- Shortlisting is underway — please apply below or get in touch with Laura at RGB for more information. |
