Static HVAC / Heat Pump Engineer – Canary Wharf
Location: Static Site Role
Salary: £46,000 + Training & Development

Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC / Heat Pump Engineer to join a permanent static-site maintenance team, taking ownership of multiple Daikin Altherma heat pump systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with HVAC, refrigeration, air conditioning or heating experience looking to specialise in commercial heat pump technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, system optimisation and supporting minor remedial works, ensuring plant performance, reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out PPM and servicing on Daikin Altherma heat pump systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and controls faults.
- Investigate system alarms, performance issues and operational faults.
- Monitor plant performance and identify potential issues proactively.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, heat exchangers, expansion vessels and associated heating system components.
- Complete maintenance reports and service documentation.
- Liaise with manufacturers, subcontractors and control engineers when required.
- Support minor installation, commissioning and system optimisation works.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

- Experience within HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating or heat pump maintenance.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Understanding of refrigeration principles and heating systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Good knowledge of pumps, valves, flow rates and system pressures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage plant performance independently.

Desirable

- F-Gas Category 1.
- Experience with Daikin Altherma heat pumps.
- Heat pump manufacturer training.
- Commercial heat pump installation experience.
- BMS/Controls experience.
- Electrical qualifications.
- Experience commissioning or optimising heat pump systems.

Training & Development

Candidates with a strong HVAC, mechanical or refrigeration background will be considered, with full support and training available, including:

- F-Gas Qualification
- Daikin Manufacturer Training
- Heat Pump Servicing & Fault Finding
- Commissioning & Optimisation
- Refrigeration Training
- BMS & Controls Familiarisation
