English Supply Teacher needed – Maidstone

Are you a passionate wordsmith with a knack for classroom charisma? We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and flexible English Supply Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school community. Whether it’s Macbeth on a Monday or persuasive writing on a Wednesday, you’ll be the literary lifeline when our regular staff are away. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspire young minds, and keep the rhythm of learning alive, all while enjoying the variety and freedom of supply teaching.

Contract: Temporary

Salary: £130 - £150 per day (Dependent on salary)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned English lessons to students aged 11–16.
• Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and student needs.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning in line with school policies.
• Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and a love of language.
• Provide feedback and support to students when required.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity and a positive learning experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject.
• Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (preferred).
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A positive, proactive attitude and a sense of humour!
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
