Test Equipment Hardware Designer (Electronic Design) - Stevenage (Hybrid) - SC Level Clearance -  6 months+ - £50p/h Umbrella  A contractor is required to support our clients Test Equipment Hardware Design Capability group, this team of engineers work as part of their Test Equipment Centre of Excellence.  The role - You will assist the team with: - Preparing specifications & develop designs in line with all quality and technical standards. - Developing proposals for investigations & solutions, following investigation and analysis of technical issues. - Carry out design appraisals to ensure all standards are maintained. - Defining & specifying test approaches; identifying any potential improvements to test/diagnostic processes. - Carry out team planning, risk management and quality activities in collaboration with the Engineering Project Manager - Production of documentation to support the in-service use of products - Support the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids - Support of less experienced team members - Keep up to date in the relevant technical areas  To apply you should meet the criteria for the required UK clearance level and have the following skills and experience: - Hold transferable SC Level Clearance or meet the criteria to apply for the clearance - Skilled Hardware Design Engineers with proven experience to support the design, integration and validation of test system hardware solutions. - Knowledge of test needs and techniques in support of product life cycle development. - Experience of Design Proving and performance testing during development. - Experience of Environmental and EMC testing during qualification. - Strong document writing skills associated with Test Equipment hardware design needs. - Experience of managing packages of work is highly desirable.
