| Transport Operator – Hams Hall Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off | 06:00 – 18:00 Salary: Competitive starting salary We’re looking for an experienced Transport Operator to join our dynamic and supportive transport team at Hams Hall. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing, professional logistics operation where your contribution makes a real difference every day. About the Role As a Transport Operator, you will play a key part in keeping our transport operations running safely, efficiently, and on time. You’ll manage driver performance, ensure vehicle compliance, and help maintain excellent service for our customers. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor day-to-day transport operations for the site - Ensure fleet and drivers remain safe and legally compliant - Manage driver performance and de-briefs - Allocate drivers and vehicles using the transport planning system - Liaise with depots and delivery points - Handle delivery issues including temperature, damages, or wrong products - Create Goods Return Notifications (GRNs) for delivery problems - Manage vehicle and trailer breakdowns - Allocate stock and manage diary departures - Produce invoices, job reports, and status updates - Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including scanning, indexing, and filing What We’re Looking For - Previous experience in transport operations - Knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation - Experience with Transport Management Systems is a plus, but not essential - Target-focused and comfortable meeting tight deadlines - Excellent IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook essential) - Strong communication and organisation skills - A proactive, can-do attitude and a team player mentality Why You’ll Love Working Here - Permanent position with a direct employer – no agency involvement - Opportunities to develop your career within a leading logistics company - Additional annual leave for long service (up to one extra week) - Free onsite car parking - Access to a 24/7 employee assistance programme for confidential support - Preferential rates for loans and savings through a credit union - Generous employee referral scheme Join a team where your skills are valued, your ideas matter, and you can grow your career in a supportive and professional environment.
