| Job Title: Waste Cleaner (Night Shift) Location: Knaresborough Salary: £14.36 per hour (Equivalent to £28,000 per annum) Contract Type: Temp to Perm (Initial 3-month contract with potential for permanent role) Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM The role: We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Industrial Cleaner to join our team on a night shift basis at our Mechanical Treatment Facility. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our plant. Working as part of a dedicated cleaning and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all site equipment is thoroughly cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: - Trommels - Ballistic separators - Conveyor belts - General plant infrastructure and structure The environment can be challenging at times, with exposure to mixed general waste. As such, the role involves a significant level of physical activity, including manual handling and working at height. Full training will be provided both on-site and externally where necessary, including working at heights and equipment safety procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to establish themselves in a long-term industrial environment with the potential to transition into a permanent role after an initial three-month period. Key responsibilities: - Carry out thorough cleaning of plant equipment and facility infrastructure during night shifts - Always follow strict health and safety guidelines - Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently - Remove waste and debris in accordance with company procedures - Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to supervisors promptly - Maintain a clean and safe working environment What we’re looking for: - Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is highly desirable but not essential – full training will be provided - A proactive, hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude - Physically fit and comfortable working in physically demanding environments - Comfortable working at height and in waste handling environments - A strong commitment to Health and Safety practices - Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team - Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a stable night shift role in a critical operational environment.
