Workshop Labourer
Location - York
Pay - £13.97 per hour
Temporary contract - Full-time hrs (Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:15, early finish Friday - 15:15)
About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Labourer to join our client team at their busy logistics site in York. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of workshop and yard, working primarily outdoors alongside an experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Working Hours- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15
- Friday: 07:30 - 15:15 (early finish)
- Includes: 15-minute morning break and 30-minute lunch
- Total: 39 hours per week
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning trailer exteriors and sweeping trailer interiors
- Steam cleaning trailers, including undersides, in preparation for MOT
- Supporting general workshop and yard maintenance
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Assisting with equipment cleaning and waste disposal
- Supporting pallet management within the logistics operation
- Carrying out driving duties (collection and delivery of parts using a 3.5T sprinter van)
- Assisting the workshop team and labourer with ad-hoc tasks as required
About You- Previous experience in a similar workshop, yard, or logistics role is desirable
- Experience using steam cleaning equipment (ideally for trailer cleaning) is preferred
- A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player with a good work ethic
