Geography Teacher in Secondary School based in Portsmouth Starting September- Long term contract Pay - £150 - £210 Location - Portsmouth Hours - 8:00am - 4:00pm Temporary full-time About the role: Supply Desk are working with a Secondary school based in Portsmouth that are seeking a full time Geography Teacher to start in September time on a long-term contract. The role will be teaching in Key Stage 3 and KS4 in the timetable too. The School are looking to appoint an excellent Geography teacher that comes with good recent experience and is passionate about teaching Geography to students in Key Stage 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and inquiry-based learning. - Assess student progress effectively through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods. - Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic development and attainment. - Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum resources and enrichment activities. - Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians. About the School: The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in Portsmouth. The school was graded as a Good School in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well. Qualifications and Experience: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. - Degree in Geography or a related field. - Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering excellent results. - Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring curiosity about the world. - Effective classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. - Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives.
