SEN Supply Teacher – Amersham

Do you have a passion in education or Special educational needs schools and want to make a positive impact?

We at Supply Desk are currently working to find a supply teacher for SEN Schools who are looking for someone who is hard working and passionate about helping children with special needs.

These positions will include supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), Social emotional and mental health (SEMH), Mild learning difficulties (MLD) and various other SEN requirements (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis both in and out of class.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working within schools with pupils that have special needs.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Working with the pupils in groups or 1-2-1 roles
  • Working across all key stages
  • Supporting students with special needs and daily care
  • To adopt and follow all school policies and to also be aware of the Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety legislation
  • The person will need to be motivated, resilient and very organised, be able to understand individual needs and deal with complex issues
  • This person will also need to have strong behaviour management skills and be enthusiastic and have a passion to encourage young people to learn
  • Deliver lessons and be able to keep the pupils engaged and motivate to learn

Ideal Candidate:

  • Good knowledge of SEN and passion to help develop the pupils learning
  • Hold QTS / PGCE or the equivalent (Unqualified Teachers also welcome to apply)
  • Someone who’s able to relate and follow the school’s ethos of working as a whole school team to ensure all the pupil's academic and emotional needs are met.
  • Current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one
  • Able to commute to Amersham
