Job Description

HSE Recruitment are proud to be working exclusively with RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, on a newly created ‘Executive Head of Portfolio and Business Development’ position, with a health and safety twist.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join RoSPA, whose reputation and reach on the world stage is second to none in the health and safety world. A not-for-profit organisation, they have worked for more than 100 years and through countless campaigns, to help people recognise and reduce their risk of accidents. People choose to work at RoSPA to be at the forefront of Health & Safety Development in the UK, campaigning to reduce avoidable accidents at home, on the road, at work, and at leisure, that is their calling.

This critical role will drive commercial income generation from portfolio development, marketing, and sales at a high-level strategic position. This role reports into the CFO, sits within the senior leadership team and has two direct reports: the Head of Sales and the Head of Marketing. You will provide positive challenge to both your direct reports, and RoSPA’s Director level budget holders with a view to ensuring they drive commercial income.

For this position, we are not only looking for someone with a strong sales and marketing background but also someone health and safety qualified who can bring that credible, technical knowledge to the team. Your health and safety knowledge and experience will allow RoSPA to be ahead of the curve in identifying gaps in policies, to expand their offering into new areas, to spot trends before anyone else which will drive commercial growth.

Person specification

- A qualified and competent health and safety professional - a Diploma level health and safety qualification is essential with a desirable IOSH membership of CMIOSH or CertIOSH level.
- OSH and Fleet experience would both be desirable.
- A background managing a sales and marketing function.
- Able to take and give constructive feedback and to positively challenge across all levels for the greater good.
- A strategic, commercial thinker who can turn that into action.
- Resilient, driven, passionate and engaging.

This role will be 2 days in the Birmingham office as a minimum and up to 3 days at home with travel expected to visit clients, attend events etc.

If you feel you have the unique combination of skills that we are looking for then we want to hear from you- please reach out to aisling.reid@hserecruitment.co.uk to arrange a call.

We are submitting a shortlist on 16th May with interviews taking place on 20th May.
