Job Description


The Opportunity

Due to continuous company growth and expansion, one of the world's leading manufacturers are now looking for a Technical & After Sales Manager. This person will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the Technical Department and line management/supervision of the Technical Advisors. They will ensure that all quality complaints that occur after the roofing is laid are investigated effectively and dealt with in a timely and cost effective manner liaising with all key stakeholders.

You'll be:

  • Mentoring the wider Technical Services team to help develop technical and organisational knowledge.
  • Providing detailed technical support for a defined flat (incl. other building membranes) or pitched roofing area of expertise and be seen as the department lead for technical support.
  • Ensuring technical questions can be answered for all roofing and other business areas and seek support of experts in other fields where required.
  • Supporting and be responsible for the generation of roof system specifications ensuring all specifications produced are compliant with internal and external standards, and ensure all specifications are logged into internal systems i.e. SpecMaster, CRM etc.
  • Highlighting issues relating to the specification and installation of company products and systems and suggest improvements, including playing an active part in developing and delivering improvements to Technical and After Sales Services, Systems and Outputs.

You should apply if you:

  • Can show excellent product/system technical knowledge of product ranges/technologies relevant to the role.
  • Have a good understanding of manufacturing processes that contribute towards product quality.
  • Can display excellent general roofing knowledge including industry standards.
  • Have experience of major complaint negotiation and dealing with customers
  • Can show excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Are PC Literate including experience of working with ERM/CRM systems.
  • Have previous line management experience.
